We love working with timber and have more than 20 years experience designing and crafting bespoke timber buildings. Nest & Vine are not limited to garden buildings only. We can design and build a range of different outdoor structures in timber for your garden. Outdoor structures are multi-functional and multi-seasonal additions to an exterior living space. These features provide protection from the elements, define space, and offers refuge from the stresses of daily life. Incorporating these bold features into a garden has become a great way to increase the enjoyment of the outdoors.
Nest & Vine are happy to design your garden structure from scratch, but equally happy to build and install a structure that you have already purchased or have selected specifically. We can also customise off the shelf buildings to fit a specific area or space within your garden. Or add any features to the general structure as required. As well as the building or structure we can also provide the groundworks, planting schemes and pathways or borders for a complete package under one roof.

Pergolas
Pergolas are free standing structures with posts or columns that typically support an open roof of trelliswork with open sides. You can train vines or other plants to climb the structures for extra charm or add a canopy for additional protection from the weather.
Trellis
A garden trellis has an open framework or lattice that is commonly used to support climbing plants. These structures can be built from wood, vinyl, or metal and may be freestanding or attached to a wall. Trellises can be used to designate outdoor rooms by screening and provide an extra layer of privacy. They are also an excellent way to soften the driving wind through a garden when carefully positioned.
Arbour
Arbours are smaller than pergolas or trellises. These structures can be used to define a point of entry, divide different outdoor rooms, or frame a focal point in your garden. Arbours are often made with lattice on which plants, such as climbing vines or roses, take on new heights. An arbour can provide a feature entrance when incorporated with a garden gate or can be positioned to create a route through to another part of the garden.
Patio Covers
Patio covers are attached to the home or a bordering wall and may have a solid roof or one built with trellis or lattice. With a patio cover, you can entertain and enjoy the outdoors year-round, add living space to your home, and keep energy costs down during hot summer months by preventing solar heat from entering your home. We can design and build a patio cover that is freestanding, or can create a lean-to fixed directly to your house.
Gazebo
A gazebo is a free standing, square, pentagonal, hexagonal or octagonal structure with a solid roof and open sides providing full shade with unobstructed views. These structures are most commonly used in traditional English or French style gardens but can also be designed in a more modern and contemporary style. Gazebos create a perfect place to enjoy nature and gather with friends, neighbours, and family. A gazebo can be used to create an intimate dining area, add protection to a hot tub, or simply a place to relax and unwind.
Porch
A timber porch can often lift a bland entrance and create a focal feature. Designs can be open and enclosed and can be modern, contemporary or traditional to suit the property. Often the mix of timber against brick or block or render is a creative contrast. On a practical level a front porch offers visitors somewhere out of the rain when waiting to enter the property. The added kerb appeal of a front porch speaks volumes.
Log Cabin
Log Cabins are used as hobby rooms and garden offices or gyms or just a quiet enclosed retreat. Typically, these architectural structures have covered roofs and provide ample space fully enclosed with windows and doors for natural light. A gentle summer rain won’t interfere with your entertaining plans and you can enjoy cool summer breezes with the open-air design. Cabins can be complimented with raised decking or a patio. The floors and roofs and walls can be insulated or you can use self insulating logs to keep the inside woodgrain. Roofs can be dual or mono pitched or bespoke dutch design. The cabin can be treated or painted to create a focal point and feature in the garden.
Shade Sails
Shade sails are a modern and elegant way of offering relief from the sun. Fabric is stretched across specially engineered poles to accent and provide shade to a seating area or patio. Shade sails provide shade, colour and interest with straight lines and geometry and contribute to the decorative and artistic aspect of your outdoor space
Car Port
Timber Car Ports offer open sided shelter for a single vehicle or two vehicles open plan or can expand to multiple bays with supports between each vehicle. The advantage of a car port over a garage is that the size will not limit the use enabling car doors to be opened without hitting a wall. Designs can be created to suit the style of property or the style of vehicle. heights can be raised to accommodate caravans and camper vans with bracing to suit the added height. Roofs are covered to create a shelter from the rain and sun alike. Roofing materials can be clear for light or solid to block UV.
