Garden Tidy Up
For some, regular garden maintenance is overkill. They simply want a tidy up – call it the magic wand effect. Maybe you have neglected the garden for some time or just a few weeks and have run out of time and need to get it pristine for friends and family. No problem, we add that sparkle of magic and get it all tidied up, trimmed and cut and swept and turned over ready.
A quick tidy up can take as little as half a day or expand into a couple of days to get it just perfect. The range of jobs we cover in our tidy up pretty much cover everything.
A broken fence, a deck that needs cleaning, a shed that needs painting, lawn that needs mowing, trees and hedges need trimming, the garden gate needs a new lock or hinge, the gutters are full of leaves…. The list goes on.
We do not need to survey the garden in advance. We will always turn up prepared and ready to hit the ground running. If there is anything special that we need to get in the way of materials, we can simply shoot out and purchase on the day.
Alternatively, when you call us you can run through general items and we can either purchase in advance for you or you can purchase and have it ready for our arrival.
One thing is for sure. When we leave your garden will be unrecognisable from the garden we turned up to.
Our quick garden tidy up service will transform your space for the better.

Regular Maintenance
Our most popular service and often the starting point for customers looking for inspiration. If you are looking for garden care and maintenance with a difference, look no further. We don’t see garden maintenance as a chore, we see it as an opportunity to bring out the natural beauty of what is already there. Only then can you truly see what works and what needs changing. Our team take pride in their work in caring for your gardens as if they were our own.
We cover every manner of garden maintenance service – from simple hedge trimming and pruning to weed control and a refresh of your borders. Our team can take care of your lawn and our maintenance ensures that it keeps its natural appearance.
We offer lawn mowing, hedge trimming, patio and deck cleaning, fence repairs, painting, treating, oiling, pruning, weeding or general garden clearance, we take care of everything to make sure our customers are happy with the results.
Customers often ask how often the garden needs maintaining. There is no ‘one size fits all’ answer as every garden is different. We have a number of regular maintenance slots that include grass cutting, hedge cutting, weeding etc.
We make fortnightly visits through the growing season from March to October for these (but we are happy to offer additional visits to suit you). For other customers we make twice-yearly visits to carry out spring pruning and weeding and then again in the autumn to ‘put the garden to bed’ for winter.
Our approach is always flexible and affordable to meet your needs.

Garden Buildings
A beautiful garden, large or small, deserves to be enjoyed all year round. Nest & Vine offer a full design and installation service for garden buildings as well as a full maintenance service to include painting, staining, gutter clearing and roofing.
We can fit windows and doors to open up existing buildings and let in more light, we can remove and replace tired roofs to seal up buildings or add insulation to enable you to enjoy them all year round.
Whether you are looking for a summerhouse to relax in, a garden office to work in or a home gym to work out in, we can offer you a full package from start to finish.
For full information on our garden building design and build service, construction only service or our full building maintenance service visit the Garden Buildings link.
If you would like some extra outdoor space but not sure where to start – just give us a call on 07785 575 552 and we will offer friendly expert advice.

Roofing
We offer full maintenance and renovation works for your garden shed or garden building roofs. Often an old shed or summerhouse can be transformed by simply replacing the felt roof with a heavy duty roof and new facia boards. Alternatively, you may decide to change a felt roof for a tiled felt roof or bitumen panel roof.
Insulation is another service that we offer on existing roof makeovers. Where a building gets excess condensation or simply loses the heat in the winter months an insulated roof can make the world of difference.
It is definitely cheaper to renovate than to replace a shed or building and with the right care and attention we can bring your shed or building back to life.
We can offer expert advice on the best materials to use for your budget and advise on insulation and finishing flashings.

Green Roofs
As well as standard replacement felt roofs, tiled roofs and insulated roofs we can offer the option of a green roof fully planted and seeded. A green roof or living roof is a roof of a building that is partially or completely covered with vegetation and a growing medium, planted over a waterproofing membrane. It may also include additional layers such as a root barrier and drainage and irrigation systems.
Green roofs serve several purposes for a building, such as absorbing rainwater, providing insulation, creating a habitat for wildlife, and providing a more aesthetically pleasing landscape.
Green roofs are suitable for retrofit or redevelopment projects as well as new buildings and can be installed on small garden buildings or larger areas dependent on the stability of the structure.
They effectively use the natural functions of plants to filter water and treat air. There are two types of green roof: intensive roofs, which are thicker, with a minimum depth of 12.8 cm, and can support a wider variety of plants but are heavier and require more maintenance, and extensive roofs, which are shallow, ranging in depth from 2 cm to 12.7 cm, lighter than intensive green roofs, and require minimal maintenance.
If you are thinking about incorporating a green roof into a garden design or would like to add a green roof to an existing building, please get in touch on 07785 575 552 and we can discuss the options and arrange a site survey.

Pollinator Planting
Simply put, we love the birds and the bees. We encourage pollinator planting in our garden designs to establish pollinator-friendly habitat and food sources for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinating insects and wildlife, thus creating continuous pollinator-friendly and wildlife corridors.
Pollinator planting has the ability to link larger habitats together, for example inland forests with coastal areas, thereby reducing habitat fragmentation and revitalising threatened species.
Aside from the eco-friendly approach to pollinator planting, simply looking closer at your planting to introduce, encourage and maintain a food source for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinating insects and wildlife with enrich your garden with additional life and colour and interest.
We guarantee you will love the difference it brings to your garden and your family.

Hedges and Trees
Who doesn’t love a tree? Adding height and structure to any garden will totally change the overall look and feel. We can advise on selection and planting to ensure you do not plant a tree that will outgrow its space. We can plant ornamentals for colour, shape and dappled shade or fruit trees that you can watch blossom and enjoy eating the fruit.
We undertake all kinds of hedge and tree work from pruning and re-shaping mature trees to routine maintenance on fruit trees to removing diseased or dead trees.
We are experienced in working in conservation areas and with Tree Preservation Orders and can help you to get in touch with your local council, or get in touch on your behalf, to gain approval as required.
If you are looking to plant trees, we have excellent local nurseries where we can get a wide range of native and more exotic species for you as well as deliver and plant them.
We can also supply and plant hedging for you as well as maintain existing hedges, whether through regular trimming or thinning or reducing.
We offer a free site survey to run through everything and offer expert advice.

Decking Installation
We LOVE decking. Softwood, hardwood and composite. Are you keen on building a framed area for your garden but not very interested in paving? Installing a deck in that space would be a great option. This is where we shine the most!
Combining nature and wood is our forté and will allow for a more rustic look and feel to the space, giving it a natural charm.
We will guide you through all the steps from design, to wood selection, to building, finishing touches and making sure the structure lasts and endures the good ol’ British weather.
A beautiful decked area can be an excellent way to treat multiple heights throughout the garden or to create additional areas for seating, dining or special features such as a swing or fire pit.
Decking provides a perfect child-friendly surface in the garden. The options are endless. Not just with the surface selection but also the layout, shape, borders and balustrades, steps and ramps. Even the smallest of spaces can be transformed with a beautifully designed deck area.

Decking Cleaning and Maintenance
We are experts in the cleaning and re-oiling of existing wooden decking. Without proper care and maintenance decking can become tired and often dangerous with a slippery build-up of residue.
Nest & Vine offer a total decking makeover service to pressure wash down your decking to remove green algae and bring out the natural wood tones.
To maintain its appearance and to stop the decking rotting, once cleaned, we apply two generous coats of a quality decking oil that will not only keep the wood in good condition, but will also help keep slippery, unattractive green algae at bay.
We can also offer a full renovation of old decks to replace rotten boards and treat or paint the deck to provide a brand new feature for your garden.

Garden Paths
Adding structure and flow to your garden with a pathway can change the dynamics and add new interest. From simple solutions like steps and gravel paths connecting house and garden, to more complex garden designs that separate areas and create more of an adventure.
A garden path has endless possibilities to connect different areas and zones within your garden or for a functional service from the front of the house to the back.
Paths can take a direct route to connect one area to the next in a simple straight line or can take the Japanese approach with a winding path to slow you down and appreciate the garden at a relaxed pace.
Our team is ready to discuss your ideas and offer our expertise to create a wonderful addition to your garden.

Patios
Where ground levels are fairly flat a patio is an excellent option for your garden. There is a truly fantastic range of slabs and materials available with something to suit every taste and budget.
We can supply samples for you to choose your perfect slabs, from natural stone through to composite concrete products.
We lay our patios on a compacted base of type one mot and then a sand and cement bedding mix so that they will not move once laid.
A patio with a raised edge finish flush with the lawn will make your life easier when cutting the lawn too as well as looking amazing. We can incorporate all manner of features with your patio to include benches and fire pits and ponds.
Just bounce your ideas off us and we can offer expert help and advice and design the perfect patio for your garden.

Block Paving & Patio Cleaning
When we clean block paving and patios, we not only clean the surface, we clean the joints between as well. If a significant amount of muck is not removed from the joints, weeds will quickly start to re-establish themselves, this is always very frustrating for customers and is why we make sure we do a thorough job time and time again.
Block paved driveways and patios are not only vulnerable to weed growth, but also if they are left unprotected the colour of the blocks will fade due to the effects of UV light from the sun.
We always recommend sealing block paving and patio slabs once it is clean and dry to protect it from surface wear, loss of colour and staining.
By helping the sand in between the blocks set solid, this will also reduce weeds in the joints.
If you would like to discuss your block paving along with other landscaping services give Nest & Vine a call on 07785 575 552 and we will be happy to help.

Artificial Grass
Wow. I can’t believe we got to this. As you would expect from anyone passionate about gardens and garden design, artificial grass has never really been at the top of our list for inclusion in a garden design. But that has changed. As we have discussed designs and wants and needs with many different customers, we have grown to realise that artificial grass, just like any other element of a garden, has its place.
Many of our customers have very small outdoor spaces that simply do not warrant the upkeep and certainly the tools required to upkeep. A lawn is a typical example where a small patch of grass will still require a small lawnmower which in turn will require somewhere to store it.
Suddenly your beautiful outdoor space is shrinking fast. This is an example of where artificial grass comes into its own. Instead of turfing the space we can lay a lawn to artificial grass and then build up the borders to create height and colour with planters and pots that equally add to the overall design.
Artificial grass can be fun. It can add a soft, almost carpet like feel to your outdoor space. Plus, it will stay as beautiful as the day it was installed.
A hassle-free ground covering that will cover a beautiful green space where you can play, eat or lounge and enjoy the sunshine. As well as being maintenance free, artificial grass is also child and pet friendly. It comes in a range of different styles so you can choose the right one to fit your space.
Artificial grass is an excellent ground cover, but it is equally useful as a roof covering where a flat roof will become as raised balcony or sun terrace. When mixed with decking the effect can be stunning.

Fencing
For decorative, practical, privacy or security reasons a garden fence can be a great addition to your project. Give your garden more charm and warmth with a beautiful new fence. Or give your existing fence a full makeover with a pressure wash and treatment. Fences can be used in the traditional way to border the garden from neighbouring properties or can be used creatively to break up the garden into different areas. It can also be a great way to make sure the kids and pets are in a safe environment. Whatever the reason may be, fencing is practical and affordable, there are multiple ways to use it in your garden from traditional through contemporary to modern designs.
Fencing options:
Close-board Fencing
Close-board fencing is the strongest form of fencing with the fence constructed on site with posts, rails and featheredge boards fixed vertically and capped at the top. Posts can also be concrete with concrete gravel-board between the posts. This is particularly good where the ground levels are different heights on each side of the fence. The fence can be different heights, up to a maximum of 2m. Trellis can be added to the top of the fence if required.
Larchlap Fencing
Larchlap panels are a very common form of fencing. Posts are smaller than the close-board fencing and can be concrete or wooden with panels between the posts. Panels can be different heights up to a maximum of 2m and trellis can be added to the top if required.
Picket Fencing
We can also supply and fit picket fencing, whether with pointed pales or round topped (great with kids). The pales come in different heights and can be left natural wood finish or painted in a range of beautiful colours to compliment your garden. The picket fence can be finished off with matching single or double gates to suit.
Metal Fencing
Different types of metal fencing are available in an array of different designs and styles. We can supply and fit metal fencing along with matching gates. We can also design and fabricate one-off fences and gates for a totally unique approach.

Gates
Gates are often an integral part of fencing and we can supply and fit a wide variety of gates from field gates to pedestrian ones.
We can supply timber or metal gates, single or double, hinged or sliding – the choice is yours.
We can supply standard size gates and frame to fit the opening or can make bespoke gates to fit any height or width in the materials to suit your design.
Just ask for what you would like and if its not available off the shelf, we can design and make gates to your specific requirements.

Driveways
The driveway is often the first impression visitors get of your house. We maintain and lay different kinds of driveways. We also lift and re-lay driveways that need renovation.
Many customer wish to extend driveways to accommodate additional parking. Whatever your requirements we can offer expert help and advice.
In the same way as a garden path, a simple cost-effective gravel drive is great for security as you can always hear when someone arrives.
There are many kinds of gravel and edging that can make them a really attractive feature of your property.
We can advise on design and materials to suit your budget and can supply full visuals and design layouts.
